Flow cytometric assays for measuring lysis of red blood cells (RBC) by immune cells or complementDrug-induced hemolysis is a rare yet potentially severe drug-induced toxicity. Certain immuno-oncology targets such as CD47 are not only expressed on cancer cells, but also on red blood cells. Celentyx have developed a flow cytometry-based hemolysis assay that enables assessment of hemolysis mediated either directly by a test molecule, or indirectly via complement or immune cells.
Assays may be suitable for evaluating antibodies binding to RBC expressed molecules such as CD47, CD55, CD58, CD59, CR1 and others. |
