Sensitive detection of the secretion of cytokines, immunoglobulins and soluble factors released from T cells and B cells in response to antigens such as autoantigens, CMV, EBV, tumour antigens.ELISpot assays provide a sensitive way to measure defined cytokine production from individual responding cells. The technology is often used to quantify antigen specific responses and their modulation. For instance, healthy donor or patient responses to viral peptide pools (e.g. EBV, CMV or SARS-CoV-2), or patient responses to auto-reactive/cancer antigens to investigate ‘recall’ responses, to characterised or novel antigens in the absence (vehicle or isotype control) or presence of biological or small molecule therapeutics to assess their ability to modify the recall response.

Assays may be suitable for the multiplex quantification of levels of GM-CSF, Granzyme B, IFNγ, IgE, IgG, IgM, IL-2, IL-17, TNFα and others.
